mediri’s main activities in this field are to combine ultrasound imaging with other medical modalities. One of our major research interests is to develop methods to detect and track motion on ultrasound images. In this context, we developed an integrated real-time ultrasound tracking system which can be used in many clinical situations e.g. to improve accuracy of radiation therapy and/or the quality of MR images in abdominal applications. A further major research branch is therapeutic ultrasound such as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) and MR guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery (MRgFUS).
